Brisbane Lions captain Jonathan Brown endured an injury-plagued 2011 season but he is fully fit now and intends to feature in at least three of his club's upcoming NAB Cup matches.
He has trained long and hard in this pre-season training camp and he wants to showcase his fitness levels in Lions' NAB Cup opening matches against Gold Coast and Melbourne.
The Lions are 1001.00 to win the 2012 AFL Grand Final. Melbourne Demons can be backed at odds of 5001.00, while Geelong are available at 12.00.

I'm hoping to play three out of the four and that will hold me in good stead. It's advantageous to myself personally and also to the team to have some continuity over the NAB Cup period.

Brown has a history of playing just one pre-season game but he says that it is vital for him to play as many games as possible this time around, as it will not only be beneficial for his personal fitness but would also improve the team chemistry.
"I'm hoping to play three out of the four and that will hold me in good stead. It's advantageous to myself personally and also to the team to have some continuity over the NAB Cup period. Vossy (coach Michael Voss) needs to work out what his side is and get some good chemistry going into the season after a couple of lean years," Brown said.
The Lions were without the services of Brown and vice-captain Daniel Merrett for a large part of last season and that pushed them down to the 15th spot on the league table. But now that the duo is fully fit, the Lions are expected to fare much better in 2012.
