Ovens and Murray club Yarrawonga have officially announced the signing of former AFL star Brendan Fevola.
Fevola, who used to play for Carlton and Brisbane Lions in his AFL days, has signed a deal with the Pigeons that will see him feature in nine of their home fixtures of the regular season. If they manage to qualify for the finals, then Fevola's will be a part of their post-regular season campaign too.
Carlton are 11.00 to win the 2012 AFL Grand Final. Melbourne Demons can be backed at odds of 5001.00, while Geelong are available at 12.00.
Upon the confirmation of his signing, Fevola said, "I'm really excited about it. It's great to have it all sorted out, I can look forward to the season ahead as a Yarrawonga player now."
He then said that the Ovens and Murray league is the best one for him after the state competitions.
Yarrawonga coach Chris Kennedy was visibly excited by Fevola's arrival at the club and he expressed his pleasure at the club's latest capture.
''The players are rapt that he is playing. Footy clubs are all about momentum and this will create a lot of hype and excitement. I'm rapt we had a crack at getting him and this will lift the profile of the league and our club," Kennedy said.
