North Melbourne CEO Eugene Arocca has said that his club is still determined to play their home and away matches in Ballarat.
The Roos began yet another community training camp in the aforementioned area on Monday and Arocca was visibly excited by the confirmation of news that Cricket Victoria and the AFL are teaming up to build a brand new stadium in Ballarat.
North Melbourne are 101.00 to win the 2012 AFL Grand Final. Melbourne Demons can be backed at odds of 5001.00, while Geelong are available at 12.00.
"I've got be very careful about what I say, but it seems to be a good use of a stadium if you've got a major-level football club and a major-level cricket team, if that's what it is, using the stadium all year round," Arocca said.
"It would still be available for the local community, of course, but it seems to be a good way of approaching this issue."
However, he was careful not to disclose his knowledge on the subject.
When asked if he believes that Cricket Victoria and the AFL's efforts for the new ground will pay off, Arocca replied: "I can't comment on whether or not it's going to happen, or what level of discussions have been held, but we are going to do whatever it takes to get this stadium, and to make it good for Ballarat as a whole."
