Villa waiting on injured pair

Aston Villa will give late fitness checks to Chris Herd and Stephen Warnock prior to their kick-off against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Alex McLeish has plenty of injury problems to cope with.
Boss Alex McLeish has been told by his medical staff that the influential pair, who picked up knocks against Stoke, are still rated at 50/50 and will be put through their paces on the Old Trafford pitch to assess their availability.
Villa are just six points above the drop zone and it would be a big blow to go into a game against the Premier League leaders, already without the services of Richard Dunne, Darren Bent and Stiliyan Petrov.
McLeish continues to endure a rough ride from some sections of the Villa support, but they have been told to give the Scot a break from United chief Sir Alex Ferguson.
He will do a good job at Villa given time, trust and confidence.Sir Alex Ferguson
The Red Devils supremo insists: "I do have sympathy for him, I have known him since he was a little kid. When I brought him through at Aberdeen, he was always a very receptive, intelligent young man.
"He will do a good job at Villa given time, trust and confidence. We all need a pat on the back at times and Alex has done a remarkable job."
Paul Scholes is set to return to the United midfield having been rested for Wednesday's shock 1-0 defeat at Wigan Athletic, which left the title door open for Manchester City.
United are 1.16 to take all three points at Old Trafford, with Scholes 11.00 to open the scoring, while Ferguson's men are 7.50 to win a 20th league title by the end of the season.
