Crane has become known for his entertaining exploits off the course as well as on.Ben Crane believes his impressive start to the season has given him the confidence to go on and make a major impression in 2012.
Crane has finished in the top ten in three of his four starts so far this year to move back into the world's top 50. Only Kyle Stanley was too good for him at the Waste Management Phoenix Open on Sunday as he narrowly missed out on victory by one stroke.
Crane was unhappy with some aspects of his game in Phoenix as the event neared its conclusion but is delighted with the progress he has made over the last month and is optimistic it will continue in the coming months.

The American told pgatour.com: "This is the third week in a row for me, so I'm tired, but I'm going to take a couple of weeks off, and it certainly gives me a lot of confidence.

Second is an awesome finish, and I just putted awesome all week.

"I don't have to have my A stuff to win, and certainly if I can just get a little good work done with my coach, Greg Rose at TPI, on my swing, clean things up a little bit, I think I'll be playing the best golf of my life, so I'm excited about that."
Crane's performance in Phoenix moved him up to 46th place in the rankings to guarantee him a place at this month's WGC Accenture Match Play Championship and he will now take a couple of weeks off to prepare.
Chris Wood is 91.00 to win this week's Dubai Desert Classic while Robert Rock can be backed at 46.00, Paul Lawrie at 36.00 and Anders Hansen at 26.00.
Crane added: "You know, I was just kind of on the cusp of getting into the World Match Play, right around the number, and I'm going to take a couple of weeks off and get ready for the Match Play, and yeah, I'm just thankful for a good week.
"I felt my swing was giving me fits out there (in Phoenix), and I was just trying to hold it together and I was able to throw a good round at him, but ultimately I just wasn't sharp. But second is an awesome finish, and I just putted awesome all week, and that really is what kind of kept me going."
