Murray, who is 6.00 to finally land his first Grand Slam title in Melbourne, warmed up for the event in fine style with victory at the Brisbane International, marking a successful start to his association with new coach Ivan Lendl.
The Scot is excited about his link-up with Lendl, an eight-time Grand Slam champion himself, telling BBC Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme: "It's very exciting. He is obviously one of the greatest players ever to play, so he should bring a lot of experience and a lot of knowledge.
"He had a great understanding of how to prepare for big events both physically and mentally. He is very hard-working and is going to give me a great opportunity to play my best tennis this year."
Murray has lost in three Grand Slam finals to date without winning a set, including being thrashed by Federer and Djokovic in the last two finals in Australia.
Meanwhile, Caroline Wozniacki is top seed in the women's draw, with the Dane 17.00 to end her own Grand Slam drought.
Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is seeded second, with defending champion Kim Clijsters 12th, one place ahead of five-time champion Serena Williams.
Clijsters is 8.00 to successfully defend her title, with Williams 5.00.
