John Wall weighed in with some crucial assists but his own shooting was below-par.John Wall dished out nine assists as the Washington Wizards recorded their first victory of the season with a 93-78 defeat of the Toronto Raptors.
Wall struggled once more from the field, hitting just 3-of-12 on the evening, but Rashard Lewis, Andray Blatche and Jordan Crawford combined for 35 off the bench as the Wizards used a strong second quarter to pull away.
The Philadelphia 76ers picked up their sixth consecutive victory with a 112-85 win over the visiting Sacramento Kings. Elton Brand recorded a double-double with 10 boards and 21 points and the 76ers hit almost 57% from the field in a comfortable victory.
The Chicago Bulls took over the Eastern Conference lead with a 111-100 triumph over the Timberwolves in Minnesota. Derrick Rose had a game-high 31 points and Luol Deng and Joakim Noah each pulled down 11 rebounds as the Bulls won their second straight. In defeat Ricky Rubio had 12 more assists in 36 minutes of play and the youngster is likely to get a starting assignment in the near future.
